Service WorkSource

A workforce platform built from a real operating problem.

Service WorkSource was founded by Steven Pajevic to address one of the most persistent challenges he encountered as an operator: finding and keeping good people.

The idea began with a simple question.

Could there be a better way to connect employers who need dependable people with job seekers looking for real opportunities?

What started as a focused workforce project eventually grew into something broader, creating an opportunity to explore hiring, workforce development, technology, and the challenges facing small and midsized employers.

From Cleaning WorkSource to Service WorkSource

The project originally launched as Cleaning WorkSource, focused specifically on workforce challenges within the cleaning industry.

But the underlying problem was much bigger than one industry.

Employers across the service and trades economy face many of the same challenges: finding qualified people, reaching the right candidates, competing for talent, and building teams that can support growth.

That realization led to the evolution of Cleaning WorkSource into Service WorkSource.

The name changed because the problem had become bigger than the original solution.

Built From Experience

Service WorkSource was not created simply to build another employment website.

It came from firsthand operating experience.

Throughout Steven’s career, workforce challenges have repeatedly connected to almost every other part of running an organization.

A business can have customers, demand, systems, technology, and opportunity. Without the people needed to deliver the work, growth eventually reaches a ceiling.

Service WorkSource became an opportunity to build, test, and learn around that problem.

Building, Testing, and Knowing When to Pause

Building something also means being willing to evaluate whether the current model still makes sense.

Service WorkSource generated traffic and reinforced many of the workforce challenges behind the original idea.

It also demonstrated something familiar to anyone who has built a marketplace or platform: creating meaningful value for both sides requires scale, continued investment, participation, and focus.

Rather than keep operating the platform simply because it already existed, Steven decided to pause its standalone operation while evaluating what its next chapter should look like.

The problem Service WorkSource was created to address has not disappeared.

The question is what the best solution should become.

What Comes Next

Service WorkSource is currently paused while its future is evaluated.

Its next chapter could include a new platform model, a strategic partnership, a licensing opportunity, integration with another workforce solution, an acquisition, or an entirely different approach.

For now, the project remains part of Steven’s broader experience in entrepreneurship, workforce development, technology, business operations, and building solutions around real problems.

Sometimes creating value means growing something.

Sometimes it means changing it.

And sometimes good leadership means knowing when to stop investing in the current version long enough to decide what the next version should become.

The Bigger Workforce Question

The experience behind Service WorkSource still shapes Steven’s perspective on business and workforce development.

Hiring challenges are rarely just recruiting problems.

They connect to leadership, compensation, culture, training, retention, operational capacity, technology, profitability, and the kind of organization people actually want to join.

Those are business problems first.

Solving them requires more than posting another job opening.

What Service WorkSource Represents

Not every venture needs to become a massive company to be worth building.

Service WorkSource represents a recurring part of Steven’s approach as an entrepreneur: identify a real problem, build something, test the idea in the real world, learn from what happens, and be willing to change direction when the economics or opportunity call for it.

The work still has value even when the answer changes.

That mindset has followed Steven across industries, businesses, workforce development, technology, and more than a decade of entrepreneurship.
